Soil macronutrient status in different depths after wheat harvest in the paddy-wheat cropping system of Rupandehi District of Nepal

Understanding the soil nutrient content varied with depth is one of most important aspects every crop husbandry practice and information about status a certain area very for management programs. Considering this, study was carried out in order to find depth-wise pH, organic matter macronutrients paddy-wheat cropping system different areas Rupandehi District Nepal. The undertaken from April, 2019 May immediately after harvesting wheat crop. Altogether 108 samples were collected two depths (0-10 cm 10-20 cm) randomly selected 54 sampling points by using auger. parameters determined analyzing at National Soil Science Research Centre, Khumaltar. results showed that pH values ranged 6.73 8.03, but non-significantly (p>0.05) affected depth. matter, Total Nitrogen (N), available phosphorus (P2O5) potassium (K2O) significantly Higher (2.01±0.06%), N (0.10±0.002%), P2O5 (25.56±1.33 mg kg-1) K2O (47.9± 2.11 found 0-10 concentrations nutrients upper surface may be due incorporation residue supplementation depleted external sources fertilizers.
